  1. Safety & QC Specialist REPORTS TO: Vice President JOB PURPOSE: To Partner and Support the field Superintendents to make their job easier to to complete projects with a 100% safety record. Conduct field safety compliance audits and site training. Use impeccable customer service skills to communicate with all ECA team members and customer/personnel that will be giving direction at job sites. Safety Training and certifications for OSHA and MSHA. Utilize ECA quality control standards and testing procedures as well as testing using the appropriate methods (ASTM) to yield results exceeding the requirements of the Project Specifications. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Safety • Set, enforce, audit, and train employees ECA company safety standards. • Conduct regular training to cover pertinent aspects of the company health and safety plan, new rules, and safe work practices. • Regular inspection to identify improvements and documentation of all company work sites, addressing safety violations, concerns, and unsafe conditions or practices. • Maintain near miss action plan to proactively prevent more serious safety problems. • Avoid conflicts with Superintendents and allow their supervisor to communicate corrections. • Immediately notify their direct supervisor of any imminent danger or safety violations or concerns. Request activities paused until agreement is reached on safely proceeding. Discuss concerns with your supervisor any work activity that is not being performed to the ECA safety standards. • Minimize government citations by taking the point of view that following the regulations is one of the key components of protecting our employees. Minimizing citations also prevents fines and distractions/resources. • Must be able to recognize a hazard and assess what is needed to correct or eliminate the hazard. • Ensure OSHA and MSHA compliance. • Perform other duties as assigned. Quality Control • Set, enforce, audit and train quality control standards. • Field QC audits and training of QC technicians. • Attend and lead weekly QC meetings. • Responsible for review of all QC Tech weekly reporting of job QC progress and as built drawings. • Learn every aspect of liner systems quality control and specification. • Immediately notify their direct supervisor of any problems or deviations from the design plans, specifications, or ECA QA/QC Program. • Report to the Project Management team, at a minimum weekly, submitting ECA weekly operations paperwork required. • Delegate the responsibility for filling out such required paperwork but will retain responsibility for ensuring the forms are complete, accurate and submitted timely. • Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant must meet the following requirements and standards: 1. Must be able to efficiently operate a computer and all basic Office programs. 2. Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate in both English and Spanish. 3. Must have and maintain resume of successfully completed projects with direct participation exceeding IAGI experience qualifications (3 years / 3,000,000SF). 4. Understand geomembrane lining systems and be proficient in the discussion of how the intended outcome will be met utilizing the equipment provided. 5. Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions. 6. Must provide demonstration of ability to consistently produce field seaming that meets the Project Specification requirements. 7. Drug/Alcohol free (Drug tests will be performed regularly). 8. Must have knowledge and ability to conduct maintenance on ECA utilized seaming equipment (including a general knowledge of IAGI standards, Safety regulations and General Construction Safety while working around and near heavy equipment). 9. Must have reliable transportation and show up to work on time every day. 10. Frequent travel to all ECA job sites without exception, including overnight stays, as necessary. 11. Ability to perform all job functions in a safe manner reducing risks of personal injury and equipment damage. 12. Must be willing to comply with all company safety and personnel policies. 13. Frequent climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting overhead. Work at heights, walk/work in rough terrain to access equipment, tools, materials, and job site as needed to complete work. 14. Must be able to work the hours necessary to achieve the goals of the company. WORK ENVIRONMENT The main reporting location for work will be at ECA Jobsites. In addition, the position will be required to travel to any job site where needed. Job sites, because they are not shielded from the weather, can include excessive heat, cold, wind, rain, snow, ice, and other weather-related aspects. At times, work will be conducted on uneven terrain, at heights and near/over water.
